One of the most overlooked part of a building is the gutters and downspouts. Gutter design on new buildings is almost an afterthought. Not with us. After over 40 years servicing some of Wisconsin’s most historic buildings in communities like Milwaukee, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Fox Point, Bayside, and Wauwatosa we understand the importance of having a sound system to carry the rain off the roof in a controlled fashion.
The winters in Wisconsin present an especially difficult challenge with gutters on tile and slate roofs because of the ice sliding off the roofs and building up at the eaves. Standard “off the shelf” gutters just don’t make it through these conditions. Our custom fabricated copper gutters are specifically designed for a particular building with pitch toward the downspouts being built in.
Extra reinforcement to the outside bead and the hangers hold up to the punishment of the winter conditions. All seams are soldered. Whether the gutters are mounted on facia boards, fitted into custom rafter tails, or built into the overhang, our skilled craftsmen will design, fabricate, and install the gutters that fit your building. Because we start with flat sheets from 20 oz. copper we can match any existing profile. Hangers from 1” copper bar are always mounted under the lower edge of the first course of roofing. Downspouts from 16 oz. copper will match the original profile. All seams including the back seams are soldered.
